Time-out

Being cooped up in a house all day long with a toddler, housework and cooking can really make a housewife feel rather gloomy at the end of the day.
Last night the hubby suggested we take a drive around the city and get hold of some yummy Oreo McFlurry to take a breather from it all. [...]

You wedded, today.

You wedded, today.
Never mind the history and the sweethearts of the past,
Those shall always be locked in the closet,
The key always hidden somewhere in the complications of human hearts.

You wedded, today.
Though the memory of our past,
May or maybe not intertwine with our future,
It has all, certainly, been a blast.

You wedded, today.
In a beautiful church, you [...]

6th trip to the dentist

This morning I had my stitches removed. As I walked up the familiar steps to the dentist’s room I counted the times we’ve climbed those stairs.
Trip 1: Consultation
Trip 2: Root canal 1st seating
Trip 3: Root canal 2nd seating
Trip 4: Wisdom tooth surgery
Trip 5: Post surgery examination
Trip 6: Removal of stitches
All within the span a month.
We’re [...]

Pinky Potty

We got Thea a potty from Ikea.

I think she loves sitting on her new “chair”! It is, afterall, the first time her feet touches the ground when sitting on a proper “chair”. Haven’t made her try to poo in it though!

Mumbling couple

It’s been 5 days since the hubby and I went for our wisdom tooth extraction.
Both of us left the medical centre last Saturday afternoon with an ice pack each held at our left cheek respectively. Both of us had ulcers erupted from the procedure thereof. Both of us struggle to have liquid meals. Both of [...]

Holding hands

Last night while the hubby was driving, I reached out and held his hand. That cool big palm is really nice to hold. It occurred to me that we used to hold hands this way, with my arms stretched to his side. With one hand he holds the steering wheel, and the other [...]

Her lips tremble but her will is strong

She sees cables, wires, controls, porcelain vase.
She pursues.
She pulls, grabs, presses.
The parents teach, warn. Countless times.
Sometimes, the parents get livid.
Sometimes, I snap.
Sometimes, I holler.
Stunned, she stops midway.
Her eyes avoiding mine. Her lips pout. Eventually the lips tremble.
She looks hurt. Tears threatening to pour from her eyes.
But her will is strong. Her eyes avoid my reprimanding gaze. [...]

2009 DR Part III

Yesterday was Part III – Extraction of wisdom tooth by way of surgery.
While the dentist was trying very hard to yank my tooth out yesterday, my mind had to focus on something else lest I get too emotional lying on that chair. However, having instruments after instruments poking at my gums, jaw and bones, my [...]

God’s chisel

This brought me to tears – the reminder of God’s humour, God’s reality, our thought-resistance, our weakness, but above all, God’s heart.
