Wearing Thea – How it started

How it started? It was all a matter of convenience.
When my hubby, Yipp, was overseas working for a month, I had a 4 month-old Thea all to myself. I had errands to run, groceries to buy, and the occasional shopping itch to scratch. While I had a really good stroller, having to attach and detach [...]

My dearest Renee

YOU, the gothic looking girl, in the sky blue Pre-U uniform…
YOU, the rocksta chic, with too many ear piercings I couldn’t count…
YOU, my beautiful bridesmaid in a lilac dress, with a cool tatoo peeping through…
YOU, who listened to all my boy problems, disappointments, dreams, and joys…
YOU, my companion, who sat in my car, with windows down, [...]

Meet Octopus, Thea’s favourite.

Octopus, in bright orange and red, is Thea’s favourite. When papa asked “where is octopus?”, her eyes searched the carpet and stopped at Octopus, turned back to look at papa, flashed him a smile, crawled towards Octopus, grabbed it, and flashed another smile at papa.
Yes, my baby knows her Octopus.

Coming to 6 months

It’s coming to 6 months since our little family has stepped foot into Dubai. Time flies.
It’s funny how we take for granted the little things that we just “know” in our own countries, things that we have to learn and re-learn in a foreign land in order to adapt, and to look less like the new-kid-on-the-block in [...]

The confessions of a domestically challenged

I iron everything, with the mere exception of undergarments, towels and rugs. Yes, that means I iron kitchen towels, baby clothes, and bedsheets.
I love the dry clean function on my washer. It’s FOC and it’s done within 19 minutes.
I don’t always wash up right after dinner. Sometimes I wait till the next morning.
I love making [...]

Thea loves balloons!

These photos were taken from my phone, and she was in a real excited state, so please pardon the quality of the pictures!

Beware of window cleaners!

I have HUGE kitchen windows with ugly bright blue panes. I’ve never understood what’s with the blue. Seriously.  The house came with GROHE taps, for goodness sake, but bright blue panes.
ANYWAY…
I walked into the kitchen with Thea in my arms this afternoon, to be greeted by 2 men in cleaning uniforms squatting outside my windows, [...]

A yelling Thea

I used to frown at kids who throw tantrums, scream, yell, throw things in public, and especially at their parents for not doing anything about it.
Now I’m at a lost. Thea has taken to yelling in public, for whatever reasons, I have yet to know.

Thea’s birth story

I’ve read somewhere, twice, that NOBODY likes to read about child birth. How true is this? Am I the rare few who actually wants to know the details? I mean, not the gory and bloody details, but the process of labour, how did you know you were in labour, how long was the labour, any pain [...]
